Job Purpose
Attend major repairs, fitting and perform proper maintenance on mechanical parts.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Perform proper maintenance at reasonable cost, ensure equipment is operating reliably and in an efficient manner.

Ensure equipment is operating reliably and in an efficient manner to maximize plant availability.

Ensures all equipment checklists are done timely and submitted to section planner.
Work hand in hand with CBM team to conduct maintenance as per equipment operating condition.
Ensure planned maintenance of mechanical equipment are executed timely.
To conduct off crop maintenance/overhauls as planned.
Carry out agreed monitoring, sampling & analysis routines to identify & escalate non-conformances in a timely manner.
Assist maintenance/production foreman to identify critical spares and address to the procurement so they should be available at stores.
Close relationship and communication with operation team to enable timely troubleshooting of equipment breakdown.
Clear communication and partnership with other maintenance partner (maintenance planner, CBM, instrument, electrical and operational) personnel to ensure maximum plant availability.
Assist with the development of maintenance plans
Adhere to maintenance best practices as per Illovo IAMP practices.
Ensure proper use and storage of all working tools and provide the checklist to the maintenance foreman or section planner for record keeping.

Qualifications And Experience

NTA level III or equivalent mechanical experience.
2 years’ experience of doing maintenance in a sugar factory.
Experience of maintaining high pressure vessels ie Welding and fitting skills on high pressure parts.

Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on Permanent Contract.
